Thousands of Customers Flock to Rosebourne Opening

Since opening its doors on Wednesday 19 October, over double the number of expected customers have flocked to Rosebourne, the spectacular new purpose-built garden and leisure destination in Weyhill near Thruxton.

Rosebourne has proved an immediate hit with locals, visitors from across Hampshire and Wiltshire and those passing through the area. With customer numbers far exceeding expectations, Rosebourne drafted in additional staff members to help in the opening week.

Over 3,500 customers visited for the official opening on Saturday 22 October, when TV celebrity gardener David Domoney, who presents ITV’s Love your Garden and is a regular face in ITV’s This Morning, officially ‘cut the ribbon’.

Visitors on the day were able to indulge in various food and drink tastings by Rosebourne’s suppliers, including Fatherson Bakery cakes, Hambletons’ savoury pies, Hill Valley Juices and smoked fish from Fjordling. Many customers have also taken advantage of the opening offer – those who spend £25 or more in-store receive a £5 Rosebourne voucher (offer available until 28 October, 2016).

Rosebourne’s new table service Restaurant has been particularly successful, operating near full capacity throughout the opening week. Serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, the Restaurant food demonstrates Rosebourne’s commitment to championing locally sourced fresh produce. The Food Hall is also a showcase for regional produce, led by Hampshire-based Owton’s, Rosebourne’s in-house butchery.

Neville Prest, Managing Director at Rosebourne, said: “It’s been an outstanding first week at Rosebourne. Feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, both in terms of the food, plant and gift product selection, and the fantastic service from our team of over 50 staff members.”
